A travel manager is a professional who is responsible for managing and coordinating travel arrangements for individuals or groups. They work in a variety of settings including travel agencies, corporations as well as government agencies. Their main goal is to ensure that all travel arrangements are made efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with the traveler's needs along with preferences.

One of the primary responsibilities of a travel manager is to plan and book travel arrangements such as flights, trains, rental caRs and hotel accommodations. They also arrange travel insurance, visas and other travel-related documents. In addition to booking travel arrangements, travel managers are responsible for managing travel budgets, negotiating rates with travel providers and ensuring that travel expenses are within budget.

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Most colleges and universities in India require candidates to have completed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate score of 50% from a recognized board.
  • Candidates may also need to clear an entrance exam conducted by the college/university or a national-level exam such as the NCHMCT JEE (National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination).

For Work Experience

  • Candidates should have completed a bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum aggregate score of 50% from a recognized university.
  • Aspirants may also need to clear an entrance exam such as CAT, MAT or XAT depending on the college or university's admission requirements.
