Overview

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) - UG 2024 is an initiative introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE) for admissions into all UG programmes across 54 central and 80+ total universities across India (Including selected state, private, and deemed universities) for the academic session 2024-25. 

Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), CUET is a national test. It aims to provide equal opportunities to candidates nationwide, including those from rural and remote areas. 

The exam will be held in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and will consist of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 

Aspirants can select up to 10 subjects from the list provided, and the merit list will be prepared by participating Universities/organizations based on the score card provided by NTA. 

CUET (UG) - 2023 offers a single platform for candidates to apply to multiple Central Universities, streamlining the admissions process and facilitating better connectivity with the universities.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for CUET (UG) - 2024:

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates appearing in CUET (UG) - 2024. All candidates who have passed the class 12 / equivalent examination or are appearing in 2024 can apply, irrespective of their age. However, candidates must fulfill the age criteria (if any) specified by the respective University / Institution / Organization for admission.
  • Qualifying Examinations (QE): To be eligible for CUET (UG) - 2024, candidates must have passed one of the following qualifying examinations recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU):
  • The final examination of the 10+2 system conducted by recognized Central/State Boards.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
  • Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
  • Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or any foreign country equivalent to the 10+2 system as recognized by AIU.
  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
  • A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) stating the equivalence of the examination to Class 12
  • In case the Class 12 Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.
  • Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination: The relevant conditions of Universities/Institutions (as applicable) will be applied concerning the year of appearance in the Class 12 / equivalent examination. Candidates must ensure their eligibility from the respective Universities' / Institutions' websites.

Exam Pattern

CUET (UG) - 2024 is a Computer Based Test (CBT) that provides candidates with the flexibility to choose up to 10 subjects from a diverse list. The examination is conducted in multiple shifts over several days, ensuring convenience for aspirants. 

As per the National Education Policy (NEP), the question papers are available in multiple languages, empowering candidates to attempt the exam in their preferred language. 

Moreover, PwBD candidates receive a compensatory time of 20 minutes for each hour of examination. The CUET (UG) - 2024 exam pattern is designed to offer an inclusive and accessible platform for aspiring students across the country.

NTA released the exam calendar 2024-25 https://nta.ac.in/Download/Notice/Notice_20230919120012.pdf for various examinations on September 14, 2023. However, the official notification for CUET (UG) - 2024 is yet to be released. It will provide comprehensive information to candidates regarding the application process, eligibility criteria, examination pattern, important dates, syllabus, and instructions for filling the application form online. 

The official notification will also include the list of subjects and their respective codes that candidates can choose from for the examination. Aspirants are advised to carefully read and understand the details mentioned in the official notification to ensure that they fulfill all requirements and are well-prepared for the CUET (UG) - 2024. 

The notification will be made available on the official website, and on the following link and candidates must regularly check the website for updates and announcements related to the examination.

Application Procedure

The application process for CUET (UG) - 2024 is entirely online, and candidates are required to complete all steps through the official website (https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/). 

As per the official information bulletin of CUET, no documents, including the Confirmation Page, need to be sent by post, fax, WhatsApp, email, or hand delivery to the NTA. 

Before applying, candidates must carefully read the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA website to ensure compliance. The application can be submitted in the online mode only, and other modes will not be accepted.

Here is the Step-by-Step Registration Process for CUET (UG) - 2024:

1. Registration Form: Fill in the required details, create a password, and select a security question and answer. After successful submission, an application number will be generated. Note it down for future reference.

2. Application Form: Using the system-generated application number and password, you can log in to complete the application form. You must provide personal details, educational qualifications, university/programme selection, test paper details, choose examination cities, and upload images and documents (if required).

3. Upload Scanned Images: You need to upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable). Ensure the clarity and visibility of the images, as unclear images may lead to rejection.

4. Fee Payment: Pay the examination fee online through net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI. The confirmation page of the application form will be generated after successful payment.

5. Confirmation Page: Download, save, and print the confirmation page of the application form for future reference. The completion of all steps and successful payment confirms the application's success.

Please note that all information entered during the application process will be treated as final, and any requests for changes will not be considered by the NTA. So, you should provide your correct email address and mobile number for communication purposes. The NTA will use the registered email address and mobile number to communicate important information. It is essential for you to ensure that the registered email address and mobile number belong to you to avoid miscommunication.

Documents Required

Candidates applying for CUET (UG) - 2024 are required to adhere to specific guidelines for submitting their photograph, signature, and other relevant documents. 

  • Scanned Recent Colored or Black & White Passport-sized Photograph (Format: JPG/JPEG, Size: 10 kb to 200 kb). The photograph must have 80% of the face (without a mask) visible, including ears, against a white background. 
  • Scanned signature (Format: JPG/JPEG, Size:4 kb to 30 kb)
  • Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS, etc.) (Format: PDF, Size: 50 kb to 300 kb)
  • PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) certificate (Format: PDF, Size: 50 kb to 300 kb)

 

Syllabus

The syllabus for the CUET (UG) examination is divided into three sections. The Language section will focus on assessing candidates' reading comprehension abilities, literary aptitude and vocabulary. 

Whereas, the Domain Subject section will vary based on the subject chosen by the candidate./. However, it will inculcate NCERT model syllabus as applicable to Class 12th only. The specific syllabus for each domain subject can be checked through the NTA website (https://cuet.samarth.ac.in).

Admit Card

The CUET (UG) - 2024 e-Admit Card will be provisionally issued to eligible candidates through the NTA website upon fulfilling eligibility conditions and payment of the prescribed application fee. 

Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website following the below-mentioned steps and strictly follow the instructions mentioned on it for the examination. Any discrepancies or issues with the Admit Card can be addressed by contacting the NTA Help Line. The date for downloading the Admit Card will be announced on the NTA website.

Steps to Download CUET UG 2024 Admit Card

1. Visit the official website of CUET at https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/.

2. Click on the "CUET Admit Card 2023" link.

3. Choose the option ‘Through Application Number and Password’.

4. Enter your application number and password.

5. Click on the ‘Sign in’ tab.

6. The CUET (UG) - 2023 admit card will be displayed on the screen.

7. Download and print the admit card for future reference.
