Overview

The IBPS Clerk exam is a pivotal recruitment test conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to fill clerical positions across various public sector banks in India. 

IBPS is set to conduct its 14th consecutive online examination for clerical positions across public sector banks in the fiscal year 2025-2026, branded as IBPS Clerk CRP XIV. The exam is divided into two parts: the Preliminary Exam and the Main Exam. Only candidates who successfully clear both stages will be considered for the role. As per the IBPS Calendar 2024, the Preliminary Exams will be held in August 2024 with the Main Exam scheduled for October 2025.

The IBPS Clerk plays a vital role in public sector banks by managing routine banking operations, providing customer service, and performing essential administrative tasks. Responsibilities include handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, assisting with account-related queries, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. Eligibility

Nationality/Citizenship:

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Be a Citizen of India.
  2. Be a subject of Nepal.
  3. Be a subject of Bhutan.
  4. Be a Tibetan Refugee who moved to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  5. Be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates in categories (ii) to (v) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age (As on 01.07.2024):

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years Candidates should have been born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 2004 (inclusive of both dates).

Educational Qualifications (As on 21.07.2024):

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  • Candidates must possess a valid mark-sheet/degree certificate indicating their graduation status as of the registration date, and they must specify the percentage of marks obtained when registering online.
  • Computer Literacy: Candidates should have operating and working knowledge of computer systems. This can be demonstrated through a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/language or having studied Computer/Information Technology as a subject in high school, college, or institute.
  • Proficiency in the official language of the State/UT for which a candidate applies is preferable, meaning the candidate should know how to read, write, and speak the language.

Special Qualification for Ex-Servicemen:

Ex-Servicemen who do not meet the above educational qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or an equivalent certificate in the Navy or Air Force after completing at least 15 years of service as of July 21, 2024. These certificates must be dated on or before July 21, 2024.

Credit History:

  1. Candidates must ensure they maintain a healthy credit history at the time of joining the participating banks. The minimum required credit score will be as per the policies of the participating banks, subject to changes over time.
  2. Candidates whose CIBIL status has not been updated before joining must either get their CIBIL status updated or provide No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from lenders stating there are no outstanding dues, failing which the offer letter may be withdrawn. The final discretion lies with the allotted bank.
  3. Candidates without a bank account are not required to produce a CIBIL status. A CIBIL score is not a precondition to apply for the exam.

Exam Pattern

The IBPS Clerk CRP XIV exam will consist of two phases: the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination. Candidates must qualify in each phase by securing the cut-off marks set by IBPS. The number of candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination will be determined based on requirements and category-specific criteria established by IBPS.

Official Notification

The authority has released the official notification on 28 June 2024 for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP Clerks XIV) conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to fill clerical cadre positions in participating banks for the financial year 2025-2026. The recruitment process will consist of two phases: an Online Preliminary Examination and an Online Main Examination. Candidates must qualify in the Preliminary Examination to be eligible for the Main Examination. Application Procedure

To apply for the IBPS Clerk post, follow these straightforward steps to complete your online application. This guide outlines the process to ensure you can register and submit your application smoothly and efficiently.

  2. Start Application: Click on "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP- Clerks (CRP-Clerks-XIV)" to access the Online Application Form.
  3. Register: Click on "CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION" to create your application. Enter basic information and note the provisional registration number and password displayed on the screen.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and any applicable certificates according to the specifications provided in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Documents.
  5. Fill Application Form: Complete the application form carefully. Use the “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify and modify details if needed. Ensure all information is accurate before clicking "COMPLETE REGISTRATION."
  6. Select State: Indicate your preferred state for provisional allotment, noting that this choice is irrevocable.
  7. Pay Application Fee: Make the payment of application fees through the online mode only, using Debit/Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, or other available methods.
  8. Submit and Print: After successful payment, take a printout of the e-receipt and the completed online application form for your records.
  9. No Need to Send Printout: Retain the printout for future reference, but do not send it to IBPS or any participating banks.
