  • Deputy Superintendent Police/Deputy Superintendent Jail/ District Probation Officer (Grade-II):
    • Minimum Age: 21 years
    • Maximum Age: 28 years
  • Government Employees (Punjab Government, Other State Governments, Government of India, Board/Corporations/Public Sector Undertakings):
    • Upper Age Limit: 45 years
    • Note: No relaxation for Punjab Police Service
  • Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State:
    • For Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service: Upper Age Limit – 33 years
    • For Other Services: Upper Age Limit – 42 years
  • Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile:
    • Age is reduced by the duration of service in the Union Armed Forces. Age must not exceed the maximum limit by more than three years.
  • Women (Widows, Divorced Women, etc.):
    • Upper Age Limit: 42 years
    • Note: No relaxation for Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service
  • Physically Handicapped (Punjab State only):
    • Upper Age Limit: 47 years

PPSC Educational Qualification

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution is mandatory.
  • Preliminary Examination Eligibility:
    • Candidates may take the preliminary exam while pursuing the degree. Proof of degree completion is required for the Main Examination.
  • Matriculation with Punjabi:
    • Must have passed Matriculation Examination with Punjabi as a subject or an equivalent Punjabi language exam.
  • Definition of “Recognized University” or “Institution”:
    • As defined by Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.
