IIT JAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the IIT JAM 2025 application form, candidates need to make sure they meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible, they must hold a bachelor’s degree. Those who are currently in their final year of graduation and will complete their exams in 2025 can also apply, but they must provide proof of their degree by September 2025, tentatively. Candidates who pass the IIT JAM 2024 exam will be eligible to participate in the admission process.
Previously, until 2021, candidates needed to have a minimum of 55% marks or a 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10 if they belonged to the General/OBC (NCL)/EWS categories, and 50% marks or a 5.0 CGPA/CPI for reserved categories. However, from 2022 onwards, this requirement was removed. Now, applicants simply need to have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, without any specific minimum marks or CGPA requirements.
Additionally, candidates must submit a physical fitness certificate during the admission process. If a candidate is deemed unfit to pursue the Science course, the admitting institute has the right to deny admission. It’s important for candidates to carefully check the specific eligibility criteria for the subjects they are applying to for JAM 2025.
