IMU CET 2025: Important Dates and Deadlines

The Indian Maritime University announced the IMU CET 2025 important dates on its official website on March 5, 2025. Candidates should keep track of these dates to complete the application process smoothly.

For the August 2025 batch (all UG programs), the age limit will be considered as of August 1, 2025. For the DNS program of the February 2026 batch, the age limit will be considered as of February 1, 2026.

The last date to apply online is May 2, 2025, until 11:59 PM. Applicants are advised to finish the process early, as payment clearance might take 2 or more hours. Staying updated with these dates will help avoid last-minute problems.

Candidates applying for IMU CET 2025 must register through the official admissions portal for admission to various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs offered by the Indian Maritime University.

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for the chosen program before applying. And, those applying for the DNS February 2026 Batch in affiliated institutes, must also complete their registration through the admission portal.

Eligibility Criteria for IMU CET 2025

Before applying for IMU CET 2025, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria set by the Indian Maritime University. The eligibility criteria for various programs are as follows:

For B.Tech Programs:

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old and not more than 25 years of age as of August 1, 2025. A relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST candidates.
  • Academic Qualifications: Candidates should have scored at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 or equivalent exams. Additionally, a minimum of 50% marks in English in both Class 10 and Class 12 exams is mandatory. SC/ST candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks, but no relaxation is applicable for English marks.
  • Medical Fitness: Candidates applying for B.Tech Marine Engineering must meet the fitness standards mandated by the Directorate General of Shipping. A medical certificate issued by DG Shipping-approved doctors is required.
  • Eyesight Requirements: Candidates applying for B.Tech Marine Engineering and DNS courses must have good binocular vision, no squint, and no morbid eye conditions. The minimum unaided vision required is 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in the better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in the other eye. Normal color vision is mandatory, and it will be tested using the Ishihara test chart.

For M.Tech Programs:

Medical Fitness: A Physical Fitness Certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner is required.

Academic Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Marine, or Naval Architecture or an equivalent discipline with at least 60% marks in aggregate. SC/ST candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in minimum marks.

IMU CET 2025 Admit Card
