The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently unveiled the SSC CGL 2024 exam notification on its official website, ssc.gov.in/. In this notification, the Commission has announced a substantial number of vacancies totaling 17,727 across various SSC CGL posts. The General Intelligence & Reasoning section includes topics such as analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, and figural classification. It also covers arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, and syllogistic reasoning. Sub-topics include semantic analogy, symbolic/number analogy, figural analogy, semantic classification, symbolic/number classification, figural classification, semantic series, number series, figural series, problem-solving, word building, coding and decoding, numerical operations, symbolic operations, trends, space orientation, space visualization, Venn diagrams, drawing inferences, punched hole/pattern folding and unfolding, figural pattern folding and completion, indexing, address matching, date and city matching, classification of center codes/roll numbers, small and capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, embedded figures, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and social intelligence.

The General Awareness section tests the candidate’s knowledge of their environment and its application to society. This includes questions on current events and everyday observations in their scientific aspect. Topics include history, culture, geography, economic scene, general policy, and scientific research.

Quantitative Aptitude covers whole numbers, decimals, fractions, relationships between numbers, percentages, ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, partnership business, mixture and alligation, time and distance, time and work, basic algebraic identities of school algebra, elementary surds, graphs of linear equations, triangles and their various kinds of centers, congruence and similarity of triangles, circles and their chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, right prisms, right circular cones, right circular cylinders, spheres, hemispheres, rectangular parallelepipeds, regular right pyramids with triangular or square bases, trigonometric ratios, degree and radian measures, standard identities, complementary angles, heights and distances, histogram, frequency polygon, bar diagram, and pie chart.

The English Comprehension section evaluates the candidate's ability to understand and use correct English, testing basic comprehension and writing skills.
